Sales of warm clothes increase as mercury drops

As the mercury has started falling at the advent of winter, the winter cloth trade has gathered momentum in Jhalakathi district's dress markets.

A large number of people are swarming local markets in the district town to buy warm clothes.

In the last two days, additional pressure of buyers was seen in cloth shops.

Traders said that they are bringing in winter clothing items of various designs, both domestic and foreign brands to meet the increasing demands of winter clothes.

Karim Munshi, a buyer in Kumarpatti market said the price of warm cloths increased now. Children's winter clothes, which could previously be purchased at Tk150 to Tk180, now customers have to pay at Tk250 to Tk300 to buy those types of dress.

Babul Talukder, another customer said that there is no alternative of buying warm cloths as the winter hits the country.

One Rahman Ali, a local trader said the sale of winter clothes have started. We hope that the sale will continue to rise in the upcoming days.
