Lawyer murder in Chattogram:
27 held by joint forces

Joint forces have detained 27 people from the Kotwali area of Chattogram in connection with the killing of a lawyer during unrest centering rejection of bail of former Iskcon leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari.
The arrests were made during operations in several areas under Katwali thana of the port city from Tuesday (November 26) evening until midnight.
Police said a total of 27 people were arrested during operations in Patharghata, Mathar Potti, Andarkilla, Hazari Goli, and adjacent areas. The detainees are being interrogated.
Chattogram metropolitan police deputy commissioner Raich Uddin confirmed the matter.
Earlier, young lawyer Saiful Islam Alif was hacked to death amid a three-way clashes among law enforcers, agitated protestors, and supporters of Chinmoy Krishna.
