Two women killed on way to collect TCB rice 

Two women have been killed in a road accident on their way to collect rice from TCB.

The accident occurred around 11:30 am on Wednesday at Moshan Bazar in Kushitia’s Mirpur upazila.

The deceased were Chhabela, 68, wife of Kurman Mondol, and Maryam, 48, wife of Nasir Mondol. They were residents of Kobarbaria village under Baruipara union.

Mirpur Police Station SI Sheikh Rakibul Islam said the victims were going to collect TCB rice from Union Parishad by a van. When they reached Moshan Bazar, the van was run over by a trolley carrying rods coming from the opposite direction. 

Chhabela and Maryam were seriously injured. They were rushed to Kushtia General Hospital where doctors declared both of them dead.  The bodies of the two have been taken to the morgue for autopsy, he added.
