Five-day Jor Ijtema begins at Tongi 

The five-day ‘Jor Ijtema’, a preparatory event of the Biswa Ijtema, began on the bank of the Turag river at Tongi early Friday.

The Ijtema will end with the final prayer (Akheri Munajat) on Tuesday (December 3).

Meanwhile, since Thursday afternoon, religious scholars from different parts of the country started arriving at the Tongi Ijtema ground.

The followers of Maulana Jobair participated in the first phase of the Jor Ijtema. Then, the followers of Maulana Saad will participate in the second phase from December 20 to 24.

Tabligh Jamaat Bangladesh Shurai Nejam (Media Coordinator) Habibullah Raihan said, the 5-day Jor Ijtema has started. Today, Pakistani brother Naeem Shah Saheb delivered a sermon after Fajr and before Jumma. At this time, Farooq Saheb (Bangalore) spoke. 

He also said that after Jumma, Maulana Rabiul Haque Saheb will deliver a sermon after Asr and Maulana Omar Farooq Saheb will deliver a sermon after Magrib.

Most of the devotees will keep staying at the Ijtema venue to complete the preparations for the two-phase Biswa Ijtema.
