Main accused in lawyer Saiful murder case arrested

Chandan, 38, the main accused in sensational advocate Saiful Islam murder case in Chattogram, has been arrested from Kishoreganj.

Police arrested the suspected killer from Bhairab Bazar railway junction area of Kishoreganj around 11:45pm on Wednesday (December 4).

Bhairab police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shahin Mia said Chandan arrived at the railway station around 7:30pm from Chattogram. He had a plan to hide himself at the house of his father-in-law.

Earlier on November 26, lawyer Saiful Islam Alif was hacked to death in broad daylight in Chattogram AC Dutta Road area.

Later, the victim’s father filed a case accusing 31 people by name and some 10-15 unidentified suspects. The accused are mostly cleaners of the Kotwali area.
