Lawyer Alif murder case: Two accused put on remand

A Chattogram court has granted a seven-day remand for two accused Chandan Das and Ripon Das in lawyer Saiful Islam Alif murder case.
The Special Court of Judge Kazi Shariful Islam passed the order after investigation officer sought a 7-day remand for each of the arrestees.
Police arrested Chandan Das, the prime suspect in the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif, from the Bhairab Rail Station in Kishoreganj district.
Police also arrested another suspect Ripon Das from Anwara upazila of Chattogram on Thursday.
Alif was killed during a protest against the rejection of a bail prayer for Chinmoy Krishna Das.
On November 26, a Chattogram court sent former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari to jail. His followers then engaged in a clash with police and lawyers.
