Slow traffic on Dhaka-Ctg highway causes 13km jam

A severe traffic jam spanning nearly 13 kilometres has been reported on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, causing significant inconvenience to passengers.
On Friday morning, the congestion extended from Gazaria of Munshiganj, affecting the Chattogram-bound lane.
Police said Cumilla bound a dumper truck hit a goods-laden truck on the highway in Baluakandi area around 8:30 am. The accident caused the traffic jam. Additionally, the slow rescue process of the crashed vehicles extended the traffic jam.
The traffic congestion continued until the filing of this report around 2:00 pm.
Bhaberchar highway police outpost in-charge Humayun Kabir said that the police are working to ease the traffic jam. Hopefully, traffic on the roads will return to normal soon.
