Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain
Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain has said, “We want good relations with all countries on the basis of respect and equality. The interim government is working towards the goal.”
“We have given a clear message to India, we want good relations; but it will be on the basis of equal interests of both sides”, he said.
The adviser was speaking at a views exchange meeting with officials and local persons at the Belabo upazila conference room in Narsingdi on Saturday (December 14) afternoon.
The adviser said, “We have been given a responsibility in a special situation after the uprising. After some necessary reforms, we will hand over the power to politicians through holding fair and impartial elections. They will run the country. However, you also have to take responsibility. So that students do not have to take to the streets again”.
Belabo Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Abdul Karim presided over the meeting. Former Secretary of the Bridges Division Md. Zahid Hossain, Chairman (Senior Secretary) of the Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council Mohammad Wahid Hossain and others spoke on the occasion.
