Ex-Bogura MP Ripu arrested

A special team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-14) arrested former member of parliament from Bogura-6 constituency Ragebul Ahasan Ripu.

He was arrested from Mohanganj municipal area in Netrakona district on Wednesday (December 18) night.

Commander M Abul Hashem Sabuj, company commander of Bogura RAB-12, confirmed his arrest.

The RAB official said there are a total of 13 cases filed against Ragebul Ahasan Ripu, including murder, with various police stations in Bogura district. He was hiding at Mohanganj in Netrakona district. Based on intelligence information, a team of RAB-14 arrested him Wednesday night.

Further legal action is under process regarding him, he added.

On February 1, 2023, he was elected as a Member of Parliament for the first time by winning the by-election for Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency.
