4 killed in separate incidents in Chandpur

Separate incidents claimed the life of three young men and a teenage girl at Faridganj upazila in Chandpur district from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Faridganj Police Station Mohammad Shah Alam confirmed the news on Saturday (December 21) night.
Among the deceased, Tanjim Abdullah, 18, of South Durga Pur village in the upazila; Shahadat Hossain, 16, and Iqbal Hossain, 17, lost their lives in separate road accidents while a nine-grade student Joha Akter, 16, reportedly committed suicide.
In Raipur, Abdullah was riding a motorcycle to Lakshmipur when he collided with an autorickshaw near Basabari on Friday evening. He was severely injured and was taken to Lakshmipur General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
In Balithuba, two friends, Iqbal and Shahadat, were tragically killed in motorcycle accident when their motorbike collided with an autorickshaw on the Badrpur Saiyal Badi road on Saturday afternoon. Iqbal died on the spot while Shahadat was seriously injured. Locals rushed them to Chandpur Government Hospital but Iqbal was declared dead. Later, Shahadat was referred to Dhaka for further treatment but succumbed to his injuries on the way.
On Friday evening, the 16-year-old Joha, daughter of Zahirul Islam, an expatriate from Oman, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the eastern Laruya village of Char Dukhia West union.
Being informed, police arrived at the scene and sent the body for autopsy. Joha lived with her grandparents in the village and a ninth-grade student at Ramapur Uchcha School in Gobindapur South union.
Faridganj Police Station OC Mohammad Shah Alam said that investigations into these incidents are ongoing, adding that legal action will be taken once the investigations end.
