Youth shot dead in Narsingdi

A young man was shot dead by miscreants in Narsingdi’s Sadar Upazila on Saturday (December 21) night.

The incident took place in the Panchdona area of the upazila around 11:30PM.

The deceased was identified as Humayun Kabir, 35, son of Ekramul Haque from Panchdona village.

Locals said that Humayun was returning home after playing badminton in a field in the Panchdona Bazar area at night. At that time, miscreants shot him dead and fled the scene.

Being informed, he was taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhabdi Police Station Mohammad Nazrul Islam said a youth was shot dead by miscreants. He was shot in his chest and head.

The OC suspects that the killing stemmed from a prior enmity.

“We are investigating and working to arrest the culprits,” he added.
