Arrest warrants issued against 5 over burning of bodies in Ashulia

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has issued arrest warrants against five individuals, including a former Member of Parliament, in a case filed over burning bodies near Ashulia Police Station during the July-August mass uprising.
A three-member bench of the tribunal led by its Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder issued the order on Tuesday (December 24).
Saiful Islam, a former member of parliament from the Dhaka-19 constituency, is among the five, Chief prosecutor Md Tajul Islam informed the court.
The other four accused are police officials, he said.
Tajul Islam, however, declined to reveal their identities.
Then the ICT chairman asked to produce the five before the tribunal as soon as possible.
The tribunal also directed to inform the development on January 26.
