Meghna 7 murders: Irfan placed on 7-day remand

Akash Mondol alias Irfan, the main accused of the murder case of seven staff members of the cargo ship MV-Al Bakhera in the Meghna river has been remanded in custody for 7 days.

Chandpur Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Farhan Sadiq passed the order on Wednesday (December 25).

Kalam Khan, in-charge of Harina River police outpost, produced him before the court seeking 10 days remand.

Earlier, at around 3pm on Monday (December 23), five bodies were recovered from MV Al Bakhera, which was anchored on the Meghna River. Later, critically injured two died at Chandpur general hospital.
