5 killed, 10 injured in Dhaka-Mawa Expressway crash

At least five people were killed and 10 others injured when a passenger bus rammed a private car on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway on Friday (December 27).

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident took place around 11:00am. The death toll would rise, said fire service rescuers.

Sreenagar fire service station officer Dewan Azad said some vehicles including private car, motorcycles were waiting at Dhaleshwari toll plaza. Meanwhile, A Bepari Paribahan bus hit a private car heading to Mawa from behind and ran over a motorcycle, leaving 15 people injured.

Later, the injured were taken to Dhaka but five people died on the way to hospital.
