6 killed as bus smashes auto-rickshaw in Sherpur

Six people were killed and another was critically injured after a passenger bus rammed a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Sherpur’s Sadar upazila.

The accident took place on the Sherpur-Mymensingh road at Bhatshala area of the upazila around 11:30AM on Sunday (December 29).

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

According to police and local sources, a bus of ‘Rifat Paribahan’ smashed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw when the bus reached Bhatshala area, leaving six passengers of the auto-rickshaw dead on the spot and another critically injured.

The injured was later rushed to Sherpur Sadar Hospital.

Sherpur Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zubaidul Alam confirmed the news.
