‘March for Unity’ convoy attacked in Bagerhat

A convoy of 25 buses carrying students on their way to join the Anti-discrimination Student Movement's "March for Unity" in Dhaka came under attack in Mollahat of Bagerhat on Tuesday morning (December 31).
The convoy started the journey from Khulna and arrived at Madrasaghat area of the upazila around 11:00 am. Meanwhile, unidentified assailants hurled brick chips and physically assaulted some students after stopping the vehicles.
At one stage, the students retaliated which triggered a violent clash in the area. At least 20 people were injured in the clash.
Police and the army have been deployed to bring the situation under control.
Mollahat police station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam said situation in the area under control now.
