3 killed in Rupganj road crashes

At least three people were killed and five other injured in separate two road accidents in Rupganj of Narayanganj on Wednesday.
The two accidents occurred on the Ruposhi-Kanchan road in Hatabo Jelepara area of Bhulta Union of the upazila on Wednesday (January 1) morning, said Bhulta Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Zahirul Islam.
The deceased are Ram Das (70), son of late Falan Das of Hatabo Atlashpur area, Ebadullah (70), son of late Golam Rahman of the same area, and Hridoy (27) of Notun Bazar area of the capital Dhaka.
According to witnesses, around 9 am Ram Das and Ebadullah were buying fish from fishermen on the footpath next to the Ruposhi-Kanchan road. At that time, a private car lost control and ran over some people. Ram Das and Ebadullah were killed on the spot. Three other pedestrians named Abu Taher, Radhamon and Swarbasar were injured. They have been rescued and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
