Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has said, “After completing the necessary reforms, hold elections quickly and return to respective places”.
He said, “After independence, those who came to power have betrayed the trust. More or less, everyone has given this nation pain. Those who were in power for the last 15 years have given the most pain.”
Shafiqur Rahman said this while addressing a conference of the party activists on the Nawab Siraj-Ud-Dowla Government College ground in Natore town on Friday.
His party will not allow anyone to engage in a conspiracy against Bangladesh, he said.
“We want friends abroad, not lords – this friendship will be based on equality,” “Bangladesh will hold its head high. We will not let anyone conspire against Bangladesh.”
Shafiqur said, “An equity-based Bangladesh will be built in future. But, we have to fight for it and only then we will be able to become citizens of a truly independent country.
