8 trainee constables relieved from Police Academy

Eight trainee recruit constables who had been receiving basic training at Bangladesh Police Academy in Rajshahi’s Sardah were discharged from the academy on charges of breaching discipline.
The eight constables were informed about their dismissal after Jumma prayer on Friday (January 3).
The dismissed constables left the academy around 6pm yesterday, according to several sources associated with academy.
Bangladesh Police Academy principal additional inspector general of police Md Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan, however, could not be reached for his comments despite repeated attempts over the phone.
On June 24 last year, the 54th batch of basic police training, comprising 347 recruits, began their six-month training at Bangladesh Police Academy in Rajshahi’s Sardah.
The final passing-out parade was scheduled for December 19, 2024 but was postponed to January 12, 2025.
