Farmer killed in elephant attack in Cox`s Bazar

A farmer was attacked and killed by a wild elephant in Cox's Bazar Chakaria on Monday night (January 6).
The deceased was known as Faridul Alam, 27, son of late Ali Ahmed.
Locals said the farmer has a vegetable garden in Dakkhin Ghuniar area. He usually guards his garden staying in the area at night. Suddenly, a herd of elephants entered the area, attacked Faridul and trampled him to death around 12:00 am.
Mehraj Uddin, Range Officer of the Phaniakhali Range of the Cox's Bazar North Forest Division confirmed the matter.
