13 lakh people to receive cholera vaccine in Cox’s Bazar

A total of 13 lakh people will receive oral cholera vaccines in Rohingya camps and adjacent areas in Cox’s Bazar from January 13.
The initiative was taken after 537 confirmed cholera cases have been identified so far. Of them, 502 Rohingyas and 35 are local residents.
In a press conference, Dr. Titu Chandra Shil, acting civil surgeon of Cox's Bazar revealed the information on Thursday morning (January 9).
Following the steps of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 13,56,514 people will be fed the vaccine.
In this year's campaign, 272 teams have been formed for local areas, where 744 volunteers will vaccinate 300 people every day. A total of 1,605 teams, including 3,210 volunteers, will visit 30 homes in the Rohingya camps every day.
