2 motorcyclists killed after being run over by truck in Siddhirganj

Two motorcyclists were killed and another sustained injury after a truck smashed them at Siddhirganj upazila in Narayanganj district.

The incident took place on Monday (January 13) noon in front of the Adamjee Export Processing Zone (AEPZ) in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Shuvo, 22, and Imon, 21, residents of Mojibbag area in the upazila.

Provat, an eyewitness, said, “Three young men were heading towards Siddhirganj Pull riding on a motorcycle. When they arrived in the area, the motorcycle collided with an auto-rickshaw, and the trio fell from the motorcycle. At that moment, a speedy truck ran them over leaving them dead on the spot and another injured.”

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Siddhirganj Police Station Shahinur Alam confirmed the news and said, “The driver of the truck has been detained, and the vehicle has also been seized in connection with the incident.”

Legal action will be taken in this connection, he added.
