No tension at border now: Home Adviser

Home Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said, “There is no tension at the border now. The situation is almost normal now. They (BSF) are not constructing barbed wire fencing. It can be said that the situation is largely stable.”

The home adviser came up with the remark while relying to a question at a views exchange meeting with the divisional officers in Mymensingh on Tuesday (January 14).

He said, “In order to restore peace, a BGB-BSF level DG meeting will be held next month. Since some unbalanced agreements have been signed between the two neighbouring countries, they will discuss there. Before that, a letter will also be given to them (BSF) from the ministry on how to resolve the agreements”.

Among others,  Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner Moktar Ahmed, Range DIG Dr. Ashrafur Rahman, and officials from the Agriculture Department and other departments were present.
