Bangladeshi injured in BSF shooting at Chapainawabganj

A Bangladeshi youth was shot and injured by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Shibganj of Chapainawabganj.
The injured is Habil Ali, 30, from the Telkupi border area of Shibganj in Chapainawabganj. He is the son of Belal from Mollatola village in Shahbazpur Union.
The incident took place at the Telkupi border of Shahbazpur Union in the upazila early Saturday (January 25).
Habil is now undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Kawsar Hasan, in charge of the emergency department at Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital, confirmed the matter and said that the injured individual arrived at the hospital around 7am. After providing initial treatment, he was referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
He further mentioned that a bullet had struck part of Habil’s chest.
Lt Col Golam Kibria, commanding officer of the BGB-59 battalion in Chapainawabganj, said: “Habil is a marked drug smuggler and now being treated at RMCH.”
