Day after clashes, KUET campus eerily calm

An eerie silence descended over the Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) campus after a clash between the leaders and activists of Anti-discrimination Students Movement and Chhatra Dal.

Additional law enforcers were seen inside at the gate of the campus on Wednesday (February 19).

Meanwhile, students of the varsity have issued an ultimatum demanding five-point, including the resignation of the vice-chancellor, deputy vice-chancellor, and director of student affairs.

Sources said that in protest against the attacks by Chhatra Dal and outsiders on ordinary students at KUET, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Masud was asked to accept responsibility for his failure. Later, students insulted him on Tuesday night for not accepting the responsibility. At that time, he felt a little sick and was treated at the KUET medical center.

Earlier, clashes broke out between Chhatra Dal and students at KUET on Tuesday over demands to ban student politics.
