KUET academic activities suspended till February 28

Academic activities at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) have been suspended till February 28.

A four-member body has been formed to probe the incident took place on Tuesday. 

The probe body has been asked to submit a report within the next three working days.

The decision was taken at an emergency syndicate meeting held online on Wednesday (February 19). 

KUET Pro-Vice-Chancellor (ProVC) Professor Dr. SK Shariful Alam confirmed the matter.

On Wednesday noon, students of KUET locked the administrative and academic buildings of the university to press home their six demands including resignation of the vice-chancellor.

Meanwhile, a tense situation is prevailing on the campus, centering the yesterday's clash. No classes or exams were held. Students have been leaving the halls from the morning.

Students have announced a six-point demand- one of which is the resignation of the vice-chancellor. Their movement will continue until their demands are met, students said.

ADC (North) of Khulna Metropolitan Police Md. Nazmul Hasan Rajib said, "Five people have been arrested in connection with the Tuesday’s clash. However, no case has been filed yet”.
