Cox’s Bazar DB OC, 6 others withdrawn

Officer-in-charge of Cox's Bazar Police's Detective Branch Jahangir Alam and six other policemen have been withdrawn from their duties and attached to district police lines over their alleged involvement in selling seized Yaba pills.

Cox’s Bazar district police spokesperson and additional police super (traffic) Md Jasim Uddin Chowdhury confirmed the matter on Wednesday (February 19).

He said these seven policemen have been withdrawn in two separate orders. Investigation is underway regarding their alleged involvement.

The other six withdrawn policemen are- Sub Inspector Samir Guha, Constable Jahidul Islam Rana, Constable Saiful Hasan, Constable Md Rezaul Karim Khan, Constable Mohammad Irfan and Constable (Driver) Riaz Uddin.

Earlier on Monday (February 17), Rahmat Ullah, Superintendent of Cox's Bazar Police was withdrawn on the same charges and attached to Police Headquarters.
