3 bullet-hit bodies recovered in Jhenaidah, responsibility for murder claimed

Three bullet-ridden bodies were recovered from a canal in Jhenaidah’s Shailkupa upazila on Friday (February 21) night.
Two of the deceased were identified as Hanif, 50, son of Rahaj Uddin and Liton Hossain, 35. Another body could not be identified immediately.
Masum Khan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shailkupa Police Station, said on information, police went to Tribeni Sechkhal area under Ramchandrapur of the upazila to recover the bodies.
“Hanif was among the deceased. He was the leader of the East Bengal Communist Party,” he said.
The OC further said two black-coloured motorcycles, a magazine and bullets were found on the spot. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
Meanwhile, a WhatsApp message sent to media by Kalu, the leader of the extremist organization Jasod-sponsored Ganobahini, claimed responsibility for the murder.
