95 Sajek resorts, shops gutted in fire 

A total of 95 resorts and shops were gutted in a fire broke out in the Sajek Valley in Baghaichhari of Rangamati on Monday.

The fire originated at around 12:45 pm in a resort named ‘Obokash’ and rapidly spread to nearby areas.

According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, upon receiving information, four fire fighting engines rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after nearly five hours of frantic efforts.

The army, BGB, fire service and locals worked to douse the flames. 

The Fire Service said it took time to reach the spot due to the remote area and there was also water shortage at the site.

The cause behind the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be ascertained.
