Earthquake jolts Sylhet at midnight

A moderate earthquake was felt in Sylhet and other parts of Bangladesh early Thursday. The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale.

However, no damages or casualties were reported.

The tremor was felt around 2:55am.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicentre was located in Bhuragaon, Assam, India, at a depth of 10 kilometers below the Earth's surface.
