Bangladeshi youth killed in BSF firing on B’baria border

A Bangladeshi youth was killed after being shot by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria.

The incident took place on Putiya border in Bayek union of the upazila on Friday (February 28) night.

The deceased was identified as Al Amin, 32, son of Sultan Miah of Dakkhin Putiya village of the upazila.

Kasba upazila nirbahi officer Mohammad Samiul Islam confirmed the matter.

He said BSF opened fire on Al Amin as they found him roaming suspiciously on the border area, leaving Al Amin critically injured.

Later, BSF members took him to a hospital in India where he succumbed to his injuries later while undergoing treatment.
