20 vehicles robbed in Pabna

At least 20 vehicles were reportedly robbed by leaving logs of trees on the regional highway in Pabna’s Santhia upazila.
The robbers took the drivers and passengers hostage at gunpoint and looted everything, including cash.
The incident took place at Talat area on Santhia-Bera road in the upazila around 1:30 am on Saturday (February 28).
According to victims, at around 1:30 am, a group of robbers stopped these vehicles by leaving tree trunks at a place called Chechania Talat on the Santhia-Bera regional highway. Later, they took the drivers and passengers of at least 20 vehicles hostage at gunpoint and looted various items including cash and mobile phones from everyone.
On information, Santhia Police Station and Bera Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and removed the tree trunks from the road, normalizing the traffic.
Confirming the incident, Santhia Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saidur Rahman said, “Nobody has filed any complaint yet over the robbery incident.”
