2 suspected robbers killed in Satkania, 4 shot

Two persons were killed, and four others sustained bullet wounds in a mob lynching in Chattogram's Satkania upazila on Monday night (March 3).

The deceased were known as Nizam and Salek.

The incident took place in Chonkhola area around 11:00 pm.

Satkhania police station Officer-in-Charge Jahidul Islam confirmed the matter.

Police and local sources said a group of young men arrived in some auto-rickshaws in the Chonkhola West Para area around 10:00 PM on Monday night. They then began firing indiscriminately. Following an announcement over a mosque loudspeaker that a robbery was taking place, local residents gathered and caught two of the youths who had arrived by auto-rickshaw. Locals beath them indiscriminately, leaving them dead on the spot.

Later, police recovered a pistol, eight bullet cases, and an CNG auto rickshaw from the spot.
