Magura child rape: Main accused on 7-day remand

A court in Magura has granted a seven-day remand for the main accused in the rape of an eight-year-old child.
Magura Chief Judicial Magistrate Abdul Matin passed the order on Sunday night (March 9).
The court also placed other accused on five-day remand in the case, Magura Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ayub Ali confirmed.
Police and court sources said several programs have been held in Magura town since morning throughout the day demanding the death penalty of the accused.
As a result, the remand hearing for those accused in a case filed over the rape of an eight-year-old girl in Magura could not be held due to the protests on Sunday.
