Traffic normal on Gazipur highways after 3 hours

Traffic movement on the Dhaka-Mymensingh and Dhaka-Tangail highways returned to normal three hours after RMG workers blocked the highway this morning, demanding payment of unpaid wages.
The workers started the protest program around 7:00 am on Tuesday (March 11) in Hosen Market area of Tongi. Later, Industrial Police removed the workers from the highway, convincing them around 11:00 am.
On the other hand, a group of workers blocked highway demanding justice over an assault of workers in Mouchak of Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur. Following the strike, at least 15 factories in the area were declared shut. Later, police and army personnel disperse them from the highway around 10:00am.
Gazipur Industrial Police Superintendent AKM Zahirul Islam said the traffic movement on the highway has become normal from 11 am.
