Barishal ADC Rashedul ‘missing’ for 4 days

Rashedul Islam, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of the Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) Traffic Division has been missing for four days.
No one has any information about the reasons behind his disappearance.
During the July Uprising, police shot a young man hanging from the cornice of a building in Dhaka's Rampura area. A case was filed with Rampura police station in that incident. BMP Police ADC Rashedul Islam is the accused in the case. A warrant was issued against him in a court. Now BMP believes that ADC Rashedul may have gone into hiding to avoid arrest.
Md Shafiqul Islam, police commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan said Rashedul had not been reporting to work since last Sunday. His mobile phone is also found switched off.
"The matter has been reported to Police Headquarters, which will take further action," he said.
According to police sources, Rashedul left the Shitalakhola Traffic Office in Barishal in the afternoon on 9 March. There are reports that he fled from Barishal to avoid arrest in the case filed in Dhaka.
