Export-import activities thru’ Hili land port to remain halted for 9 days

Export-import activities between Bangladesh and India through the Hili land port will remain suspended for straight nine days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and weekly holidays.
However, the movement of travellers with valid passports and visas between the two countries through the Hili immigration check post will continue.
Nazmul Haque, general secretary of the Hili Land Port Import-Export Group, confirmed the news on Tuesday (March 18).
He said that trade activities will remain closed from March 29 to April 5 for the Eid holidays.
“Trade activities will resume at the land port from April 6,” he said.
Ariful Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of the Hili immigration checkpost, said, cross-border travel will remain normal through the immigration check-post of the land port during this time despite the suspension of export-import activities between the two countries.
