Missing BGB member’s body recovered from Bay

The body of a BGB member was recovered from the Bay of Bengal on Sunday (March 23), two days after he went missing while rescuing Rohingyas in the sea in Cox’s Bazar.
The body was recovered from Shah Porir Dwip’s Golarchar area around 12:30 pm.
The deceased, Mohammad Belal, was posted as a soldier at an outpost along the Shah Porir Dwip border in Sabranj union of Teknaf upazila.
Earlier, a boat carrying Rohingyas capsized on Friday night while trying intrude into Bangladesh from Myanmar. Meanwhile, some Rohingyas and the BGB member Belal went missing.
The death takes the toll from the boat capsize to five.
Teknaf-2 BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md Ashikur Rahman confirmed the matter.
