Bangladesh enters era of sea-going ferries

Ferry services on the Chattogram-Sandwip route have been inaugurated for the first time.
Through this, Bangladesh has entered an era of sea-going ferries.
Brigadier General (Retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain, adviser to the Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Ministry of Shipping, inaugurated the ferry service at Sitakunda’s Bashbaria Jetty on Monday (March 24) morning.
M Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and Ministry of Road Transport, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Bridges, Environment, Forest, Climate Change and Water Resources Adviser, Faruk E Azam, adviser to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Bidhan Roy Podder, adviser to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, and Farida Akhter, adviser to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock were also present at the event.
