2 shot dead as bikers chase private car in Ctg

Miscreants on motorbikes shot dead two persons inside a private car after chasing the vehicle on Bakalia access road under Bakalia thana in Chattogram early Sunday (March 30).

Two other people were also injured in this connection and they were admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Manik, 30, the driver of the private car, and Md Abdullah, 30.

Ikhtiar Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bakalia Police Station, confirmed the news.

According to police and local sources, a private car was coming from the new bridge towards the Bakalia access road at around 3:30 am. At that time, a group of miscreants on four to five motorbikes chased the private car. When the private car reached the entrance of the access road, the miscreants opened fire indiscriminately inside the private car which left two people dead on the spot and two others injured.

OC Ikhtiar Uddin said senior police officials visited the spot after being informed about the murder. Efforts are underway to identify and arrest those involved in the murder. The killers will be brought to justice soon, the OC said.
