Elections to be held definitely in December or June: Mahfuj Alam

Mahfuj Alam, adviser to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has said the 13th general election will definitely be held in the country between December and June, according to the announcement of the interim government's Chief Advisor, Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

He said this while responding a question of journalists after inspecting a Madrasa in Ramganj upazila of Lakshmipur on Wednesday (April 2).

The adviser said, "There is no doubt about it, when will the elections be held? Will they hold elections or not? There will be elections definitely."

He also said that the government cannot take a decision on banning the Awami League alone without consulting political parties, domestic and foreign partners, and stakeholders.
