Case filed against Abu Hena Rony for defaming PM

Natore Correspondent: Popular Bangladeshi stand-up comedian Abu Hena Rony has been sued for allegedly posting a derogatory comment about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on social networking site Facebook.

Awami Jubo League Natore’s Singra upzila unit joint secretary Hafizur Rahman Sabuj filed the case under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act on Thursday.

Abdullah Al Mamun, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Singra Police Station, said Jubo League Sabuj filed the case against Rony for posting a status on his Facebook account defaming the prime minister.

Rony became the champion of Indian Zee Bangla’s comedy show Mirakkel Akkel Challenger-6.

Rony, son of Abdul Latif, is the resident of Bildahar village of Chamari union council in the upazila.
