2 brothers among 3 drown in Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Three children including two brothers drowned in a pond at Dula Fakir Mazar area in Eidgao of Cox's Bazar sadar upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased were identified as Md Abdullah, 13 and Md Tuhin, 8, sons of Abdus Samad of Dula Fakir Mazar area in Eidgao of Cox's Bazar sadar upazila and Tazmir Ahmed Moni, 11, son of Abu Taher of the same area. Moni is also cousin of Abdullah and Tuhin.

Besides, Abdul Aziz, 10, another son of Abdus Samad and Md Tarek, 13, son of Abdus Salam of the same area were rescued in dying condition.

Eidgao police camp in-charge SI Mohammad Khairuzzaman said Abdullah, Tuhin, Moni, Abdul Aziz and Tarek went for a bath in a pond at the Dula Fakir Mazar area on Sunday morning. At one stage of their bath, they drowned in the pond.

Later, their family members began search for them as their children were out of their eyes for a long time. At one stage, they found their children floating in the pond, Khairuzzaman said.

Three children were found dead and two others were rescued from the pond in dying condition, he said.

The police official added that the two children rescued in dying condition were being treated at a local clinic.
