Youth killed in Sarail clash

Brahmanbaria Correspondent:  A young man named Kalu Mia (28) was killed and 10 other injured in a clash between two groups at Sarail upazila in Brahmanbaria.

This incident took place from 9.00am to 11.00am on Wednesday at Shakhai village under Panishawar union of the upazila.

Kalu Mia was the son of Malai Mia from that village.

Police and locals said that for the last three years, there was a dispute between Abu Taher and Kalu Mia’s  cousin Milon Mia of the same village over a piece of land.

On Wednesday morning, the people of both sides were involved in a clash. At least 11 people were injured from both sides. When the injured Kalu and Iqbal took them to Sadar Hospital, the duty doctor declared Kalu dead.

Sarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rupak Kumar Saha said that the situation is now under control. Additional police have been deployed to avoid further clash.
