Four killed in Gopalganj road crash

Gopalganj Correspondent: At least four people have been killed and 19 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a brick-laden pick up at the district's Kashiani upazila.

The incident took place near Pona bus stand on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Kashiani around 1:30pm on Tuesday.

The deceased were known as Shilpi Somaddar, 50, president of Bagerhat Women Council, pick up driver Shahjahan Sheikh, son of Ruku Sheikh of Jangal Mukundapur village of Kashiani, helper Sohag Mia, 28, son of Barkat Mia of Bhutpasha village of same upazila, helper Nayan Mollah, 25, son of Nazrul Mollah of Ratoil village.

Azizur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kashiani Poice Station, confirmed the news.

He said a Baleshwar Paribahan bus collided with a pick up and plunged into a roadside ditch, resulting the casualties.
