Khulna in festive mood as PM visits Saturday

Muhammad Nuruzzaman, Khulna: Festive mood has been prevailing in Khulna as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visits the city on Saturday.

On the daylong visit, Sheikh Hasina will join the 58th Convention of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) along with opening 47 development projects and laying the foundation stones of 52 other schemes.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League president, will address a public meeting, to be organized by the party, at the Circuit House premises in the southern divisional city in the afternoon.

Centering PM's visit, the roads and thoroughfares of the city have tastefully been decorated with colourful placards and festoons inscribing photographs of the premier and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

A 110 feet long stage alike 'Boat' (the party symbol) has been built on the circuit house premises on the occasion of the public meeting.

Centering PM's rally in Khulna, the party leaders and activists got excited. The city along with the entire district town has been decorated with colors and lightings.

A huge number of arcades, banners and festoons, chanting very slogan for PM and welcoming her to Khulna, have been set up at most of the spots of the city.
