Fake Walton factory found in Ctg, 4 held

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: The Detective Branch (DB) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) on Tuesday arrested four people for their alleged involvement in running a fake Walton stabilizer factory in Halishahar area of the port city.

The arrestees are Ashraful Islam Babu, 25, Arif, 30, Mohin Uddin, 24 and Abul Khair, 22.

Acting on a tiff-off, a team of DB police conducted a drive at a house named ‘Nur Jahan Vila’ in Halishahar residential area of the port city and arrested them, said Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-Public Relations) Alok Biswas of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP).

Building a fake Walton factory in the house, the arrestees had been running this fraudulent business for long time. They had been making fake products and selling them in name of Walton products in the markets, he said.

During the drive, 66 fake Walton voltage stabilizers and 12 fake Marcel stabilizers were recovered from the factory, Alok Biswas added.

He said a case was filed against them with Halishahar Police Station in this connection.
