Ten held over question leak plans in Barisal

Staff Correspondent, Barisal: Police held 10 people over their alleged planning of question paper leakage of primary teachers’ recruitment exams in Barisal.
Of them, seven were held from a residential hotel of the district town and three from a house of Chhatra League leader.
Law enforcers also seized electronic devices to be used in question leak and cash Taka from their possessions.
Barisal Police Commissioner Mahfuzur Rahman came up with the disclosure in a press briefing around 11:30am on Saturday.
He said, “Acting on tip-off, seven were held conducting a drive at the city’s Hotel Imperial on Friday night. Later, three were held from the house of Rezaul Karim Bappi, mastermind of the question leak plans, also BCL president of the government Syed Hatem Ali College unit.
The detainees were known as Shahidul Islam Sohel, 35, Fatema Begum, 29, Nazmin Nahar Moni, 27, Elina Begum Rupa, 26, Anwar Hossain Fakir, 39, Ahsan Habib Hawladar, 35, Jahir Uddin Jewel, 35, Jayeda Khatun, 30, and Badal Bepari, 38.
Three blue-tooth electronic devices, eight mobile phone sets and a cash of Tk 6 lakh were seized from their possessions, the commissioner said.
A case was filed in this connection with Kotwali Model Police Station on Saturday morning, he said.
