Diarrhea breaks out in Faridpur

Faridpur Correspondent: The number of diarrhea patients has increased at an alarming rate at different hospitals in Faridpur.

Patients are being kept on the floors of the hospitals as the hospital authorities fail to accommodate all patients.

Doctors at the hospitals said most of the patients have fallen sick after having oily and adulterated foods.

Around 67 patients including women and children have been admitted to Faridpur general hospital in eight hours from Saturday dawn to 12:00pm. At least 306 people took treatment from different hospitals in last week.

Golapi Begum, senior staff nurse at Faridpur general hospital, said at least 20 people receive treatment daily at the hospital. But the number of patients has increased to several folds as the holy month of Ramadan begins.

Doctors think that people are being affected to diarrhea after having oily and adulterated foods.
