Two ethnic girls murder: Accused found dead

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: Police recovered bullet-hit body of accused of two ethnic girls murder at Tripura Para under the district’s Sitakunda upazila.

Police recovered body of Razib Hossain, 32, from Chhto Kumira area under the upazila on Wednesday morning. He was killed in a ‘gunfight’ between two groups of drug peddlers, police claimed.

Mozammel Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) of Sitakunda Police Station, confirmed the news.

Police said a ‘gunfight’ occurred between two groups of drug peddlers on Tuesday late night over control of narcotics dealings. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and found bullet-hit body of a youth. Later, he was known as Razib, accused of two ethnic girls’ killing of Tripura para of the upazila.

On May 18, Sukhloti Tripura,16 and Chobi Rani Tripura, 13, were found dead in a room of their village Tripura para. Following, one Abul Hossain was arrested over the incident. He, later, gave confessional statement that the two girls were strangulated to death. He disclosed involvement of Razib in the incident.
